Facebook Versus Google and Twitter

There has always been controversy over which company is the most succesfull and i think that we can all agree that it is a three horse race between Facebook, Twitter and Google. Facebook has become increasingly more popular over the last few years but in my opininon it has nothing on Google considering the services available from Google. Google offers a total of 13 services all the way from web searches to alarms and alerts. While Facebook is always trying to come up with new ideas and designs so that they can keep up to pace with Google.  

The Creation of Facebook

Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook with his fellow roommates Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes while studying in Harvard. In the beginning access to the site was limited to students attending Harvard only but it then expanded to other colleges throughout America. Zuckerberg created Facebook as a rating website and it was originally named Facemash. It was used to rate people by their looks with a picture being shown of Zuckerbergs fellow students and celebrities. It eventually was opened to everyone over the age of 13 but recently it was found in May 2011 there are 7.5 million children under the age of 13 that are members of the site. A study in January 2009 showed that Facebook is the most used social networking site in the world and in April 2009 it was estimated that 41.6% of Americans have a Facebook account.

Mark Zuckerberg (more detailed)

Mark Zuckerberg was born on May 14 1984 in White Plains New York. zucker berg was raised by his two parents as a jew but since then he has claimed to be an atheist. Mark asways succeeded in school and was always seen as incredibly intelligent. While in high school he was able to read and write Hebrew, Latin, French and Ancient Greek. He was also a fencing star and was the captain of the school fencing team. During his sophomore year he met a Priscilla Chan and they have been dating since 2003. In 2010 he invited her to live with him so he began learning Mandarin. Zuckerberg contained a strong interest in computers as a child his dad taught Atari BASIC Programming and later on his dad hired him a tutor to teach him even more about computers. Zuckerberg created Facebook from his Harvard dorm in 2004 and at the start he just created it for fun.

Where do the majority of Facebook users live?

This picture here represents the number of people who are present on Facebook. This cluster map was for the year 2009 and i would be confident to say that the number of people using Facebook has grown significantly since this map was created. As you can see Americans take up the majority of the 800 million active users currently on Facebook. There are also large numbers of facebook users in western  europe. Look at South America why are all the Facebook users living along the coast? Because the Amazon rainforest is in the middle and it makes it almost impossible to live there never mind get internet reception. Mark Zuckerberg was born on May 14 1984 in. He is an American internet entrepeuner and he is the creator of the social networking site Facebook. He is also chief executive and president of this company which was co-founded in 2004 by Zuckerberg and a few fellow classmates. His estimated value is believed to be around 17.5 billion.
